The Seven Gods of Good Fortune (Shichifukujin)
The Seven Gods of Good Fortune known in Japanese as Shichifukujin, are a groupd of seven deities who symbolize happiness, prosperity, longevity, and good fortune in Japanese culture.
The belief in the Seven Gods developed through a fusion of SHinto, Buddhism, and Taoism and became widely popular among the general public during the Muromachi and Edo periods.
Even today, they are deeply cherished, especially through traditional New Year customs such as the Seven Gods Ppilgrimage, where people visit temples and shrines associated with ezch deity.
