In Japanese culture, "Bi"(Beauty) means more than just something that looks beautiful.
It also expresses kindess, harmony, and inner peace.
The beauty in Japan is found in simplicity and quiteness- in the color of each season, the sound of wind, the touch of old things.
The Japanese sense of beauty includes
・Wabi (侘)- simple and calm beauty
・Sabi(寂)- beauty in time and aging
・Yugen(幽玄)- mysterious, deep beauty beyond words in calligraphy, the character 美 show balance, elegance, and the gentle flow of the brush.
It reflects both outer grace and inner spirit - the harmony that Japan calls "beauty."

Koto Chikage is located at Nagoya-shi, Nishi-ku.
Koto Chikage offers hands-on workshops of cultural tradition such as koto, shamisen and calligraphy.
Rie Asai, a world famous koto artist, is a president of Koto Chikage.
